THE CHALLENGE
Situated within the all-new Grand Hyatt Grand Cayman Resort, the pool bar needed to transcend its role as a simple amenity and become a defining part of the guest experience. The challenge was to create a concept that could seamlessly evolve from a relaxed daytime escape into a dynamic, high-energy social destination by night…while maintaining a strong sense of place and distinction within a competitive luxury landscape. It required a narrative rich enough to spark curiosity, yet intuitive enough to resonate with a broad audience, delivering an experience that felt both immersive and effortless at every moment of the day.
THE CONCEPT

The pool bar is envisioned as a journey guided by the rhythms of the sea and sky. By day, it offers an effortless escape…sunlit, breezy, and seamlessly integrated into its natural surroundings…while subtle details hint at a deeper narrative beneath the surface. As evening falls, the energy shifts, transforming the space into a dynamic rooftop where color, movement, and atmosphere invite discovery and connection. Both a vibrant social hub and a serene retreat, the pool bar becomes more than a place to unwind…it’s an evolving experience where each visit feels distinct, shaped by the magic of the ocean and sky.

Inspired by the wild journey of sea turtles, the design embraces an airy, organic, and free-flowing aesthetic. Fluid lines and natural textures echo the effortless motion of the sea, while a vibrant mix of sun-drenched oceanic hues and rich, earthy tones creates a dynamic atmosphere that transitions from lively to refined. Graphic elements highlight turtle shells, celestial motifs, and abstract outdoor details, combining vibrant elegance with the sophistication of a high-end tropical resort.
